Daylight Studio Flatiron Featured in the Production of Beatles ’64
Some productions leave a memorable mark on a studio, even when the studio is only one part of a much larger production.
Released in 2024, Beatles ’64 is a documentary about The Beatles’ first trip to America in February 1964, when thousands of fans greeted the band in New York and Beatlemania quickly spread across the country. Directed by David Tedeschi and produced by Martin Scorsese, the film combines rare archival footage from pioneering filmmakers Albert and David Maysles with newly filmed interviews featuring Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and others.
The documentary captures both the spectacle of The Beatles’ arrival and a more personal look at the four members as they experienced an unprecedented level of fame. It also revisits their historic appearances, including their debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, which drew more than 73 million viewers at the time.
As part of the larger production, Daylight Studio Flatiron at 50 W 17th Street in Manhattan was utilized for an interview and studio setup.
While Beatles ’64 brings together material from multiple locations and sources, our Flatiron studio became one of the working spaces supporting the production.

Our 7,000 sq. ft. Flatiron location includes multiple studio options, giving production teamsflexibility to choose and configure a space around the needs of the project.
Located on the 2nd floor at 50 W 17th Street, the studio sits in the heart of Manhattan’s Flatiron District—a central location that makes it practical for crews, talent, clients, and production vendors traveling from different parts of New York City. Its proximity to Union Square, Chelsea, the Garment District, and major subway lines also makes it easy to move between the studio, offices, hotels, and other production locations throughout the city.
Inside, the studio offers an 18' cyc wall, large windows, natural daylight, white epoxy floors, 14' ceilings, multiple studio options, loft and rooftop access, and its iconic staircase.
These features give production teams more than one way to approach a shoot, whether they need a controlled cyc setup, a daylight environment, or additional architectural spaces for photography and video.
That combination of central Manhattan access and flexible production space is what makes Flatiron a practical choice for NYC productions working on tight schedules.
